On a journey through Vietnam, the final day is often filled with a lingering mix of longing and memories. You carefully pack each little gift into your suitcase, as if sealing away every cherished moment to carry with you. Some choose to let that last day drift by gently, while others long to immerse themselves in a world of their own, trying something exciting, leaving behind a deeper imprint of Vietnam.
A rainy Tuesday afternoon…
Amy gently pushed open the door, her eyes smiling. “Hello. May I ask, is this NOTE Perfume Workshop?”
Beside her was her teenage daughter, Jean – a girl who loved to explore, who loved fragrance. Being young, Jean would never allow herself to let the last day of a journey pass by in vain.
“Well… I just wanted to join an experience before leaving, to tuck all my memories of Vietnam into my luggage,” Amy said.
The two placed their suitcases neatly in a corner of NOTE and began their journey into the world of scent, discovering top notes, heart notes, and base notes. For Amy, creating perfume was much like arranging flowers. A true flower devotee, she knew how to blend blossoms together so their beauty could bloom as one. Jean, on the other hand, with her passionate love for food, found perfume-making to be like cooking, where ingredients and spices were mixed to create something rich and full of flavor.
That Tuesday seemed to pass more slowly, as they lost themselves in the world of fragrance. One bottle carried a gentle, airy floral scent, while another whispered of chocolate, although not a single chocolate note was used. Perhaps what made it most special was not the perfume itself but the way they carried Vietnam within them, preserved in memory and sealed in scent.
